Barsa

Football Club Barcelona is the most important sporting organisation in Catalonia. Its social mass, projection and history make Barsa one of the most important sporting entities in the world including all of its divisions (football, basketball, handball, hockey, athletics, rugby, and so on).

Camp Nou (the FC Barcelona stadium) has welcomed mythical players such as Kubala, Suárez, Cruyff, Maradona, as well as Ronaldinho, who has been declared the world’s best football player 2004 according to FIFA.

Joan Gamper, a Swiss industrialist who moved to Barcelona, founded the FC Barcelona in 1899. Ever since it was founded, the Club has not stopped getting bigger. Its current number of members is 105,706 and there are 1,508 supporters' clubs. Barsa is the only football club in Europe that has taken part continuously in all the European Competitions since 1955.
